We supply

• An approved safety helmet and a waterproof torch

Your trained guide carries a small first aid kit and two full kits are stored in the cave

• There is a minimum trip charge of $130 (for example, a trip with only two adults would need to pay an additional $10 each or join another group)

• The minimum group size is two people

• Each trip must have a minimum of two adults

• Children must be at least seven years old

The maximum group size is 10 people per guide – larger groups will be divided between several guides.

The cave is in its natural state. The tour includes walking on a river bed, in mud, over rocks and a 20 metre crawling section.

How long?

The cave trip takes a minimum of 90 minutes from the time you leave and return to the café.

Children?

• Children must be at least seven years old

• It is not suitable for children in strollers or back/front packs

How fit do I need to be?

You need a good level of fitness. The trip includes walking over farmland, along a stream bed and up and down lots of steps.

Can I take photos?

No. To keep our guests and the fragile cave environment safe we do not allow cameras in the cave.

Do I need to book?

Yes. Please. It means we will have a guide available. If you show up without booking we may not be able to take you right away, if at all.

DO

• Wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet and dirty

• Bring a light jumper, multiple layers are better than heavy jumpers

• Wear walking shoes with good grip

• Bring a full change of clothes

DO NOT

• Wear heavy trousers, such as jeans. They get heavy and uncomfortable when wet and make you too cold

• Wear gumboots. They get full of water and slip easily on the rocks

Don’t have old clothes and shoes?

Clothing and footwear can be hired by arrangement. If you choose to hire our clothing make sure you allow extra time before your tour to find the right fit and hold a mini fashion photoshoot.
